RE: CLUB ROOM: As colleges open a lot of people wonder if I-phone will save on long distance. They need a place to test the technology and get help. People want and need a place to meet - test communications, form groups they feel secure with, rather than call strangers. The old /talk/ with a timer set at about 30 sec. is great as a CLUB ROOM where people leave their IP # and the time to call. I don't like being called very much - I am usually doing something and it gets in the way. I will only do it until the groups take off on their own with people that WANT to be called, test technology, and actually communicate. If you don't know what a IP# means, or what is IRC, or FTP, etc. this is the place to learn. SYNERGY-NET on http://www.wiredbrain.net USE http://www.altavista.digital.com/ ALTAVISTA keywords: trevista pflaump + synergy (pflaump gives 3433 hits) to get DIRECTORY of the synergy sites. We were planning on being on line from GMT 14:00 to 18:00 ( Florida is -4 GMT) - you can check in on the hour =+/- .05 minutes and I will help you get going. Check in at http://forum.trevista.com/talk/. We have the MS IE net meeting established so you can contact me on Pflaump@wiredbrain.com from their directory, which now works better but if you know the IP then you can speed dial which is better still. You can also speed dial on COOL TALK from Netscape. Millions are testing the system to call their children, friends, etc without long distance charges. People need to learn how to use the Internet. I will post my IP # on the index page ( Monday to Friday ) and on IRC /join #synergy. This puts you fully in touch with a friendly group. We than can talk while you have a browser window open and down load and set up what ever else we need. Then we move on the web home page of your own that you can ftp to the site and download to edit. Detail instruction as you need it. http://www.wiredbrain.net/club.htm We may have paying students. You could take on a few. You would have to arrange a time to meet. Then you help them get started on ROADMAP. $ 50.00 is just a beta fee, and really should not be more than three hours of personal instruction per student. If we split fees the price should go up ? What do you think ? 60/40 60% for the instructor, 40 % for the site - I would think about $150 ( $ 100 to you and $50 to the synergy network per student ) Private lessons are much better than preprogrammed lessons - Kevin did it for me on IRC - we talk you in - when we have voice it will be even better and winchat is real time note board. The talk and forum is useful to post where are your notes and meeting times are on net meeting - If we look toward sub-contractors - Donna becomes Internet 100, and we open another 102, we can expand - 101 should be step by step and you are good at that ! Also my messages just confuse people - we need to stay on topic. My idea is that you grow into Internet 101, I start 102, and then someone takes that over, then office Intranets, and other topics on the best.htm list http://www.wiredbrain.net/synergy/NEW/best.htm MAYBE a BIG demand for GRAPHICS...and WEB MASTERS..
